It's a Personal Thing :)

When I originally started this BLOG it was to promote my business. And it served me well while I was in England. It got me lots of business in a very short period of time. But as we just moved and are still settling in I am setting the business side of photography aside for a few months. In the interim I've decided to use this site to simply upload pictures and stories from my life as a way to keep in touch with friends and family... so for awhile it's just going to be personal...

One Last Session

This was my very last session before we flew back to the states. And I must say it is one good-lookin' family. ha ha! I wouldn't have been able to do it without the help of my good friend D. This is how we did it. I would get Jason and the kids were I wanted them, then I would adjust the exposure and say something like "make sure the red dot in on Kate's face" and Ms. D would make sure we were all looking at the camera (read: Riley was looking at the camera) and snap the picture. There was a lot of running back and forth and it made the session longer than a normal one.... but I have to say, I think it was worth it. After taking pictures of so many wonderful families in Bury St. Edmunds, I couldn't leave without getting a few for my walls. So thank you, thank you Ms. D and also thank you to my other friends who made me follow through with this endevour. I almost backed out with so many other obligations in the week before we left but they talked me into doing it. I'm so glad they did!

Three Peas in a Pod...

The three Amigos ~ the best of friends.  That is what these three are.  And these pictures were taken just days before we left England.  I know that they will always be sad that they can not "go back" to the way it was in our old neighborhood but I also know they will be forever thankful for the time they had.  And lucky for these girls (unlike when we were kids) they really can keep in touch with e-mails and affordable long distance.  So this post is dedicated to our girls and to friendship.

My First Maternity Session

And it has been a long time coming. Here are Ms. N and Mr. J who are just as excited as can be about the upcoming arrival of the beautiful baby girl. I couldn't be happier for these wonderful people. The only regret I have is that I won't be there for those first newborn sessions! Best of luck with everything N and J!!

Ms. C and her lovely Family

I met Ms. C nearly a year ago when I decided it was time to start taking better care of myself. She is the Leader of the Lakenheath TOPS group. (TOPS stands for Taking off the Pounds Sensibly) She asked that I take these pictures in honor of her losing 100 pounds! I have never met someone with such dedication to a cause. Each Monday evening I would look forward to hearing about her weekly endeavours at the gym and at home with her food choices. I am so proud of the progress she has made! I really feel as if you can see her confidence in these photos. Ms. C has such a beautiful family and has made the important choice to take care of herself so she can enjoy them for so many years to come. I'm so very proud of you and am going to miss you.

We are Here!

I can't believe how long it has been since I have been on here. Though I do have an excuse. In the past three weeks we have moved to another country (back to the great US of A), unpacked our house (in the beautiful city of Boise, ID), had a birth in the family (my sister, who I now live across the street from, had a beautiful baby girl), had my parents come for a visit (they drove all the way from West Virginia) and had Abby fly up for the weekend (from Wyoming.) So... you can see why the BLOG has been what some might say... neglected. Buy I'm back and behind all at the same time. And as much as I want to share lots of photos of happenings here, I first want to update my last two customers who didn't make it on my BLOG before they packed up my computer and sent it on it's way.... :) Thanks Christine and Nickie for you patience!
